Sadly, Bubba Watson won't be able to take this absurd line off the tee at this year's Zozo Championship

October 21, 2020

The 2019 golf season will always be remembered most for Tiger Woods winning his long-awaited fifth Masters. The 15-time major champ made more history six months later when he won an 82nd career PGA Tour title at the Zozo Championship to tie Sam Snead's record. But something else happened at that inaugural event in Japan that will be pretty hard to forget for those who saw it.

While playing the par-5 sixth hole at Narashino Country Club during Sunday's final round, Bubba Watson took possibly the craziest, boldest line off the tee in golf history. Seriously, just take a look in case you haven't seen it or forgot. Or even if you recall it well, because, well, this is just ridiculous.

As you can see, Watson enjoyed putting on a show for the crowd (it helped, of course, that he wasn't in contention). And in true Bubba Golf style, he pulled off the perpendicular drive and went on to make par on the hole.

While golf fans—and Tiger Woods' back—are happy the Zozo Championship relocated from Japan to California's Sherwood Country Club this year due to COVID-19 concerns, sadly, we won't get to witness Watson attempting this again this week.

Thankfully, there's always next year. Although, the course will have had plenty of time to Bubba-proof the place by then.
