Electric Factory

This fan video of Rutgers’ buzzer-beater upset of Purdue is the greatest source of renewable energy on Earth

December 10, 2021

We are an awful long way from March, but you wouldn’t have known it on Thursday night as Rutgers took down number-one ranked Purdue on a Ron Harper Jr. buzzer beater from the logo, sending Jersey Mike’s Arena into a court-storming pandemonium. Merry Christmas, you filthy animals.

But wait. That’s not even the best angle of Harper’s (the son of that Ron Harper, in case you were about Google it) hail-mary heave. In fact, from the best vantage point, you can’t even see the shot go down. Instead, all you can see is some guy named TJ’s face, but trust us, it's worth it.

(WARNING: We are now entering a live F-bomb zone).

Absolutely electric. This is what college basketball is all about—the thrill of victory after countless nights of agonizing defeat. The win, which sent TJ and half of New Jersey into dangerous cardiac territory, took down the Boilermakers in their first-ever game as number one and saw Rutgers, +650 dogs at the start of play, leap from 217 to 160 in the NET rankings.

All in all, not a bad night to be basketball fan in the Garden State …
