White Christmas
One of the world’s top golf courses is completely covered in snow, and it looks just as beautiful as ever
Like it or not, winter is coming. In fact, in some part of the world, it’s already here. This week, the Pacific Northwest is bracing for a record-breaking bomb cyclone that's could put the area's rich bevvy of golf courses out of commission for the season. Meanwhile, across the pond, one of the earth’s top golf courses currently lies beneath of blanket of snow. In sharp contrast to violent weather brewing swirling over the Pacific, however, it looks just as beautiful and serene as ever. Check it out.
Yep, that’s Scotland’s famed Royal Dornoch Golf Club—home to the no. 2 course on Golf Digest’s list of the World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses—looking decked out for the season. It’s a surreal scene captured by photographer Matthew Harris, partly because of the shining sun and sandy beaches, but also because it barely resembles the iconic links course we know and love.

Unfortunately for golfers of the Northern Hemisphere, Royal Dornoch wasn’t the first course to be covered in the ol’ white stuff this season and it certainly won’t be the last. There’s a longgggg way to go before spring, but when winter looks this beautiful, it’s almost hard to complain.
