Can you beat this Rory McIlroy devotee at golf trivia? We doubt it

A few years ago, there was a very bizarre Internet trend suggesting that men were constantly (and only?) thinking about the Roman Empire. That wasn’t really the case, but it did force people to think about what their specialist subject would be. What do you know more about than anyone else in the world?
Luckily, there’s a BBC show called Mastermind in which all sorts of obsessives get to show off their knowledge in a specific category of their choice. Their choices range from “Aztec Mythology” to “British Brutalist Architecture” to “Roger Moore’s tenure as James Bond." And now we have Charlotte Long putting us all to shame when it comes to World No. 2 Rory McIlroy.
Over two minutes, she answered some questions that Rory McIlroy himself might have to think a second or two about.
Here are some of our favorites:
-Which golf coach recruited the teenage McIlroy to play college golf at East Tennessee State University, although McIlroy later turned down the scholarship?
-McIlroy won the 2014 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool, where he shot what score in both his first and second rounds, dropping only one shot across both rounds?
-McIlroy completed the career Grand Slam when he won the 2025 US Masters, despite making double bogeys on two holes during his final round. The first hole and which other?
Long ultimately got nine points over 11 questions without a single pass and deserves all of the golf claps for such a strong showing, especially with the bright lights right in her face. Now, it only seems right to have McIlroy answer questions about Charlotte Long. We’re betting he won’t do as well.
