Presidents Cup 2017: Watch Daniel Berger say "we want to beat them even worse" on Sunday in merciless TV interview

September 30, 2017

So much for the narrative that the U.S. doesn't care about international team competitions. After finally righting the ship in the Ryder Cup last year, Team USA is steamrolling the Internationals at this week's Presidents Cup like never before. And the Americans are showing no signs of letting down.

Take this brutally honest TV interview Daniel Berger did with Sky Sports -- which noted Twitter personality Tweeter Alliss took exception to:

That's some serious competitive spirit. Here's Berger's full quote from the clip:

"I mean, our goal from the minute we got here was to crush them as bad as we can. I hope that we close them out today and we go out there tomorrow and beat them even worse."

The U.S. didn't quite close out the International Team on Saturday, but with a 14.5-3.5 lead, it only needs one point from 12 singles matches. We'd say the young star has provided Nick Price with some bulletin-board material to rally his troops on Sunday, but we're pretty sure even Berger's bold words are (way) too little, (way) too late.
