PGA Tour shenanigans

Phil Mickelson, Joel Dahmen drag each other all over Twitter ahead of first tee time together

May 06, 2021

It's too bad the group that includes Phil Mickelson and Joel Dahmen won't be one those featured on PGA Tour Live on Thursday at the Wells Fargo Championship. If Wednesday night's Twitter "battle" is any indication, that's going to be one fun pairing to watch.

Dahmen got the fun started with a tweet expressing genuine excitement about getting to play with the five-time major champ for the first time. Oh, and a slight jab at Phil about unsuccessfully trying to "get a game" with him for the past six months.

Maybe Mickelson doesn't think Joel has the wallet to hang in his legendary practice rounds? In any event, here was Mickelson's response. Well, first response:

Boom. Nailed it with that ball speed joke. Golfers, am I right?

Moments later, someone made a comment comparing the two golfers' calves, to which Mickelson added the obligatory pic of his legendary lower legs:

But these guys weren't done. Phil then offered up a nice (we think) tweet about Dahmen and Lanto Griffin, the third member of their group for the first two rounds at Quail Hollow:

And Dahmen couldn't resist one more dig at his 50-year-old playing partner:

Good stuff, guys. Seriously, is it too late to make them a featured group?
