PGA Tour pro zings fellow player for curiously being included on wall of golf legends

November 02, 2022

When you start listing golf's all-time great players, there are certain obvious people you can't leave out. You know, names like Jack Nicklaus. Tiger Woods. Arnold Palmer. Chesson Hadley. Wait, what?

Such was the double take one PGA Tour pro took when glancing at a wall featuring some of the game's legends—and, well, Chesson Hadley. No offense to Chesson. As a PGA Tour pro, let alone a PGA Tour winner, he's better than 99.99 percent of people who have ever picked up a golf club on this planet. The finger snapping, Bojangles lover just seems out of place in this particular spot, which we believe to be at El Camaleon Golf Club.

That's the site of this week's World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba, where Michael Kim is in the field. And on Wednesday, Kim shared this funny video wondering how a fellow one-time PGA Tour winner found his way into this illustrious company. Check it out:

How, indeed. Fantastic narration from Kim there. "Looking at this wall of major champions, you got Rickie (Fowler), Mr. Popularity, a couple U.S. Open winners, the GOAT, Tom Watson, Phil, annnnnd Chesson Hadley." Perfect.

Although we can't see the rest of this wall, Hadley's inclusion does seem very random. His one career PGA Tour win didn't even come in this event, but at the 2014 Puerto Rico Open. And even if his win had come at Mayakoba, then what are all these other guys, most of whom have never played in that event, doing on the wall?

Either someone made a mistake or someone is just a big Chesson Hadley fan. Or, Chesson Hadley had a hand in decorating that wall himself.
