This PGA Tour pro was absolutely shocked to learn he had made a hole-in-one
We've all heard stories about golfers looking around the green for their golf ball only to finally check the cup and discover they've made a hole-in-one. Maybe you have even been lucky enough to be the subject of one of those happy tales. But on the PGA Tour, such a scenario is highly unlikely.
Sure, during peak COVID times it happened due to the lack of crowds, but otherwise, there's almost always some sort of reaction up by the green when a tour pro holes out. During the first round of the 2022 Sanderson Farms Championship, however, a golfer missed said reaction. And wound up having a funny reaction of his own when he finally found out where his golf ball was.
MJ Daffue was a surprise leader during the second round of this year's U.S. Open, but he got a pleasant surprise when he arrived to the green of the par-3 fourth hole at the Country Club of Jackson on Thursday. Check it out as the South African starts looking around for his golf ball before being told, "It's in the hole," by a volunteer:
Must be nice. Although, Daffue was coming off a not-so-nice double bogey so that only brought him back to even on the wild two-hole stretch.
Anyway, congrats to Daffue for the ace. And if you're a volunteer at a PGA Tour event and you see someone make an ace, maybe make a bit more noise.
