The ‘PGA Tour 2K23’ Tiger Woods covers have reportedly leaked and they look glorious

August 17, 2022

It’s been nine long, cold, dark years since ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14,’ the last time Woods graced the cover of a golf video game. Think about all the horrible things that have befallen humankind since. COVID, coups, LIV Golf. Coincidence? We think not.

But fear not, huddled masses. We have good news. Tiger Woods has returned once more to video game cover-dom and the world can finally begin to heal.

According to the leaked details when 'PGA Tour 2K23' was briefly listed for preorder on Amazon on Wednesday, Woods will return as a playable character across both the standard and deluxe editions. Alongside Woods, new licensed courses such as TPC Sawgrass, TPC Scottsdale, and East Lake Golf Club—the sight of this month’s TOUR Championship—have been added, as well as an online Topgolf mode. Buyers of the deluxe edition will also get exclusive cover art (seen above in the PS5 trim), three-day early access, and the Michael Jordan Bonus Pack. How many GOATs can you squeeze into one game? Sheesh.

Woods has been rumored to be the cover star of the latest iteration of ‘PGA Tour 2K’ for several weeks, and Wednesday’s leak all but confirms the whispers. The final covers and features aren’t scheduled for release by 2K Games until Monday, August 22nd, so we may have to wait a little longer for official confirmation, but if this is what it looks like, golf got bit of good news just when it needed it most.
