The fate of Peyton Manning's football career will be decided today at noon, with sources confirming the Colts--namely owner Jim Irsay--will release the former Super Bowl MVP in lieu of paying a $28M bonus to retain him. While most experts support the decision, chalking it up to the "business" of football, it's difficult to watch one of the most celebrated quarterbacks of my generation get tossed to the curb because it's good business. As ESPN's John Clayton said, the Colts might be rebuilding, but Manning made that franchise.
