The Top Gridiron Golfers

We are at that point in the calendar when the remaining NFL teams are desperately hoping to extend their season a couple of weeks and into the Super Bowl. Tony Romo

With just one NFL playoff win to his credit, perhaps the Dallas Cowboys' best performance under pressure came in the first-ever Golf Digest U.S. Open Challenge. Romo, then a 2.2 handicap, shot an 84 from the tips at Torrey Pines just days before the 2008 U.S. Open (left). He has improved a lot since, at least on the golf course, taking over the No. 1 spot on Golf Digest's 2009 list of the top athlete golfers with a handicap that's been as low as plus-3.3. His next golf appearance in public will be a pairing with Tiger Woods in February's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
