Binge Watch
The first trailer for ‘Full Swing’ Season 3 looks incredible ... but one star is conspicuously missing

Even by the wacky, wild, petty, bizarre and befuddling standards of pro golf over the past half decade, 2024 was indisputably, certifiably batshit crazy. Rory McIlroy had his heartbroken (in more ways than one). Xander Schauffele went from the “best golfer to never win a major” to “two-time major winner” in the span of a few weeks. Bryson DeChambeau reinvented himself at Pinehurst and on YouTube, where he played golf with a former U.S. President who is now the current U.S. President. Oh, and Scottie Scheffler got arrested at a major in the middle of arguably the single best PGA Tour season of all time. Perhaps you heard about that.
If only there one place we could not only relive all these jaw-dislocating moments, but also find out what really went down behind the scenes …
You're in luck, fellow sickos! It’s called ‘Full Swing,’ the Netflix golf docuseries which just dropped the first trailer for season 3 today. Fullscreen on, sound up, let’s go.
Safe to say, if you weren’t waiting for this like a kid for Christmas morning, then you are now. Based on the trailer, we’ll get an inside look at Scheffler’s dominant run and dramatic arrest, which even his own caddie Ted Scott admits he couldn’t believe. It seems McIlroy will open up about his will-he, won’t-he divorce saga and the personal life struggles that led to it. We’ll even get a healthy dose of Bryson content, despite his continued LIV Golf sabbatical.

But there is one player who played a major (ahem) role in 2024’s golf soap opera who is nowhere to be found in the high-octane teaser: Xander Schauffele.
Apart from the eventual PGA Tour Player of the Year, Scottie Scheffler, no one had a better season than the World No. 2, who won the PGA and Open Championships while also logging three runner-up finishes. Schauffele’s absence early in the 2025 season can be attributed to injury, but his omission in the trailer is notable, especially considering guys like Min Woo Lee, Justin Rose and even Neal Shipley get ample screentime. We want to make very clear that Golf Digest has not heard anything about Schauffele’s involvement or lack thereof, but as a 2023 Ryder Cup dispute with the PGA of America proved, Schauffele reads the fine print and if he doesn’t like what he sees, he’s not afraid to back out.
Obviously, we hope we see more of Schauffele, one of golf’s most uniquely charismatic figures, when ‘Full Swing’ Season 3 premieres February 25th on Netflix. If not, well, something tells us there will still be plenty to talk about at the water cooler come the 26th.
