NBA player's mom cleans up on "The Price is Right," nearly kills fellow contestant

May 03, 2018

Patrick Beverley has made a nice NBA living as a pesky defender, often among the league leaders in steals. But on Wednesday, it was his mom who stole headlines -- and snagged a huge prize -- on The Price is Right.

Lisa Beverley, wearing an "NBA mom" shirt with the logo of her son's L.A. Clippers (Aww), got the coveted "Come on down!" call on the iconic gameshow, and she certainly made the most of it. After getting up on stage with host Drew Carey, Lisa won a car in "Let 'em Roll," but she wasn't nearly done. A miraculous $1.00 spin earned her a spot in the "Showcase Showdown" -- judging by her fellow contestant's reaction, she nearly killed him -- where she won the day's biggest prize. Just look at this GIF!

(Side note: The Price is Right is still going?! There was nothing better to watch when you were home from school on a weekday. I remember a perfect morning consisted of Sportscenter, Murder She Wrote re-runs and watching Bob Barker wield that mic around. What a legend.)

Anyway, in total, Lisa walked away with two cars and a six-day trip to Madagascar (Pretty random, but OK), a total haul valued at $41,000. Not bad for less than an hour's work. Here's how her proud son reacted:

But back to that other contestant, sitting on 95 cents, he was a virtual lock to move on to the "Showcase Showdown." And then Lisa Beverley totally daggered him. Let's watch this heartbreaking/magical moment again:

Poor guy.
