More on Mickelson's fashion

Golf Digest fashion director Marty Hackel was at the Riviera Country Club for the final round of the Northern Trust Open on Sunday and checks in with this fashion report, including more on the white belt Phil Mickelson has worn with a black ensemble on two occasions this year:

"Why is it that suddenly everyone is a fashion stylist? Walking the fairways of Riviera today was fun, but pretty dangerous. Everyone seems to have an opinion about Phil's white belt.

"Sure it's big (almost two inches) and it draws attention to his waist, but that's just the point.

"Phil is having lots of fun marching to a different drummer and the more comments he gets the more determined he will be to use the white belt. Wait till the white shoes arrive from Callaway!!!

"Clearly this event seems to bring out the the 'fashionistas' and that's a good thing. The big trend here in LA is clearly headwear. No, it's not the baseball cap, but rather newsboys and trilbys. Must be the Justin Timberlake and Jason Mraz influence! There is one thing that almost every real hat person shares, and that is having some fun. Don't these folks all seem to be happy?

"It's time to vote on Phil's White Belt !!!"
