Min Woo Lee suffers cruelest mini-golf break, gets mocked by fellow players
It's been an incredible year for Min Woo Lee, who earned a special temporary PGA Tour membership last month, and has really enjoyed the support of American crowds—and the convenience of Amazon Prime. But the 24-year-old Aussie is back on the DP World Tour this week, and he finally caught a bad break. Fortunately, it came playing mini golf.
Ahead of the Betfred British Masters, Lee and some fellow golfers played a little putt-putt. And why not? It certainly seemed to work for Keegan Bradley ahead of the Travelers Championship.
Only Lee won't be headed to the first tee on Thursday with better feel on the greens, but rather with some serious scar tissue after suffering the cruelest of breaks on one of the holes. Check it out as his putt clangs off the flagstick (the latest evidence that you should always pull the flagstick when you can) then wraps it's way all the way back to the tee, then off the turf, pausing for a second in the grass, before tumbling into a hazard that's not even meant to be in play:
That's rough. And that had to result in a big number. Even worse? His playing partners laughed right in his face and immediately made sure the scene was captured on video. That's just mean. (But seriously, good job to whomever captured the video! It's great!)
Anyway, good luck bouncing back from that, Min Woo. And on the bright side, you don't have to worry about any clown's mouths at The Belfry this week.
