Michelle Wie West the subject of new documentary coming out this spring

Michelle Wie, one of the most gifted golfers and popular players in LPGA history, will be the subject of a new documentary.
NBC Sports, the USGA and Campfire Studios announced on Tuesday "Dream Big: The Michelle Wie Story." Maura Anderson will direct the authorized documentary focusing on the life and career of Michelle Wie West, which will premiere on NBC in May and stream on Peacock.
“After stepping back and reflecting on the peaks and valleys of my career, I felt a profound sense of gratitude and fulfillment, and I want savor all of the lessons I learned and resilience I gained along the way,” said Wie West in a statement. “I was deeply flattered by the opportunity to work with Maura and the team, and my hope is that viewers, especially young athletes, can gain an understanding of some of the challenges, and also draw some inspiration and encouragement from my story.”
That story includes the golfing prodigy being the youngest woman ever to compete on the PGA Tour, and was highlighted by a win at the 2014 U.S. Women's Open. Wie West, who married Jonnie West in 2019 and had a daughter in 2020, retired after competing in the 2023 U.S. Women's Open at Pebble Beach.

Michelle showed countless numbers of young girls and boys what is possible and her impact on the sport will endure for decades.”
