Masters 2026: You have to try these alternative Masters cocktails from the bar team at a top-100 course
Ben Jared
We all know and love the Azalea cocktail. Each spring, we return to the Masters’ signature cocktail—a blend of vodka, grenadine and lemonade—and each spring it delivers the vibrant, refreshing vibes of its namesake. For most, especially on Masters week, there’s no need to mess with tradition, but some brave patrons would welcome an Azalea alternative with a toast. That’s where Prairie Dunes Country Club comes in.
The famed Kansas links course, ranked 25th on Golf Digest’s list of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses, is no stranger to a signature cocktails. In fact, the club’s trademark “Gunch Punch”—a slushy mixture of vodka, Sprite, sweet and sour mix and cranberry juice—is said to make those infamous prairie winds feel like a light spring breeze. So, we turned to the bar team at Prairie Dunes for a little help developing two alternative Masters cocktails that even a novice can make at home. Let’s get shaking, shall we?

Azalea Margarita (right)
Would you love the Azalea if weren't for your vodka PTSD from college? There’s an easy solution for that: tequila! (Or sub with mezcal if you like things a bit smoky).

.5 triple sec
.5 simple syrup
1 oz lime juice
.50 butterfly pea tea (can be purchased on Amazon)
.5 oz grenadine
