There’s a “Big Four” for fashion weeks: Paris, Milan, New York and London. But it might be time to add in a fifth, as Augusta National has somehow become just as integral when it comes to the very niche (but equally important!) world of golf fashion.

Between Jason Day’s controversial Malbon looks to the critical Masters scripting that every brand drops weeks before the major to loud tees becoming the norm, golf fashion lives and dies at Augusta National. And now, it’s time to add a new trendsetter to this vaunted list: Cam Smith.

There are formal looks and then there are formal looks, and Smith is certainly pulling off the latter. A full suit jacket during an Augusta National Wednesday practice session is certainly something we haven’t seen before, and even the “On the Range” broadcasters felt the need to comment … and chuckle.

“This we don’t see that often. Looks like a 36 regular. Cam Smith, a very formal approach to his practice session earlier today. I mean, if he buttons it, does the button pop? Is that why he’s going no button? It matches the pants, too, which is a good look.”

It appears that this look is coming from a partnership between Cam Smith, Ripper Golf Club and luxury golf brand Greyson Clothiers. The team dropped a sneak peek last week, but we can’t say we expected this look to make it all the way to the Augusta National range.

LIV Golf’s official X/Twitter account made sure to add in a “love to see it,” just to remind everyone where Smith’s been playing golf nowadays.

This isn’t that surprising as the Masters has become the hub of debuting new style trends, especially for a game that has become more and more in vogue as of late. Shameless plug, but we just dropped our own Style Issue. That’s how far things have come!

Perhaps Cam Smith saw that he didn’t make our “Best Dressed Golfers on Tour” list and felt the need to throw his name into the conversation. To be fair, this is certainly memorable.

We’re excited to see what’s next for Smith & Co. Perhaps a leather jacket on Moving Day or some penny loafers at the par-3 contest. If Cam Smith is in the final group on Sunday, we might be seeing the first August National tuxedo. And we know there's one jacket Smith wants more than anything. We're betting he'd trade all these looks for something green.
