Jason Day says he's 'not sure' Augusta National will approve Malbon's 'bold' Masters scripting for him

A year after Augusta National asked Jason Day to remove his 'busy' sweater vest during the second round of the Masters, the 13-time PGA Tour winner says he will "have" to get advanced approval for his planned outfits next month. And he doesn't sound too optimistic about that happening.

If TLC is looking for a follow-up show to "Say Yes to the Dress," may we suggest "Say Yes to the Vest"? Where Day haggles over what he can wear at Augusta National. Could be fun.

Anyway, credit to Garrett Johnston for getting this fashion scoop at Bay Hill this week. Here's what Day had to say about the unusual style situation.

"So, we have to get clearance on the scripting this year," Day told Johnston on the BeyondTheClubhouse podcast. "To Malbon's credit, they've got some bold stuff, but I'm not sure it will pass."

    Interesting.

"So, we'll see how it goes," Day continued. "Hopefully, they'll say yes, and if not, we'll be going back to the drawing board and coming up with something different."

Of course, Day, a Malbon ambassador, has become known for trying out different looks in recent years. Here's what Stephen Malbon wrote on Instagram while posting the interview clip:

    Bold adjective
    1.
(of a person, action, or idea) showing an ability to take risks; confident and courageous.
“a bold attempt to solve the crisis”

Good luck to Jason and Stephen. As golf fans are well aware, Augusta National has a lot of rules.
