Marc Leishman fires 61 in home club competition, but loses (!) to 12-handicap (!!)

Marc Leishman is a six-time PGA Tour winner, a key cog of LIV's Ripper squad, and a four-time Presidents Cupper. However, he did not win this week's Thursday stableford event at Warrnambool Club while playing against a bunch of regular golfers.
No, Leishman's game hasn't suddenly fallen off a cliff. In fact, the Aussie recently finished T-6 in LIV's season opener. And on Thursday, he fired a 61 at his childhood course where he won the club championship at age 13. So, the dude can still cook.
Instead, this was just another example of the magic of golf's handicap system at work. When giving shots is involved, golfers of any level can play a competitive match! Although, Leishman, playing to a plus-five, probably didn't feel so magical after losing to a random hacker. First, a look at Leishman's scorecard, which was shared on Reddit:
As you can see, that 61 produced 42 stableford points. That's a big number. But it wasn't enough to beat a 12-handicap with a great name, David Greed, and an even better nickname, "Greedy."
Go on, Greedy! Yep, you're going to be telling your mates about this for the rest of your life.
As for Leishman, that might be the toughest loss of his career. And we're talking about a man who once finished runner-up at a British Open!
OK, so we're guessing he got over this close call a lot quicker. Again, there's not much more you can do that shoot 11 under. And there's nothing you can do to prevent a 12-handicap from shooting the round of his life. Well, other than calling the handicap police after the tournament to report a robbery.
