Korn Ferry Tour pro takes newlywed wife to Huntsville Championship for honeymoon, is miraculously still married
Shad Tuten's T-35 at the Huntsville Championship didn't draw much attention over the weekend, but it should have. You see, Tuten's performance on the Korn Ferry Tour came while he was on his honeymoon. And after a week-long honeymoon in Huntsville, Alabama, he's still married.
"She’s very nice," Tuten said of his newlywed wife, Beccah Wallace, in a video shared by the Korn Ferry Tour. "Huntsville, Alabama, is not exactly Italy." No offense to Huntsville, Alabama, but no, it's not.
"Yeah, I wish I was in a spa somewhere," Beccah added, "but it’s fine. Everything’s good."
Now that's a couple that seems built for the long haul. Well, except for Shad being allergic to Beccah's cat. Anyway, it's all in here:
The two said they were excited to learn their wedding date fell on an off week for Tuten. So they got married in their hometown of Aiken, S.C., last weekend and then drove to Alabama early Monday. That's dedication. And that's the life of someone grinding to try to make it to the PGA Tour. Every week matters.
Shad narrowly kept his Korn Ferry Tour card by finishing 75th on the money list last season and after this T-35 he's up to No. 64. It looked like he might jump even higher after an opening 66 in Huntsville, but he dropped 12 spots with Sunday's 72.
But what a successful week overall for Tuten. He made some money to pay for the wedding while on his honeymoon. And again, he's still married. Good luck the rest of the season, Shad. And good luck to you too, Beccah. I hope you get to that spa at some point this year.
