Tae Hoon Kim is teeing it up in the United States for the first time this week. When he returns to his native South Korea, he might need a bigger garage.

During Thursday’s opening round of the Genesis Invitational, the 35-year-old knocked in a 7-iron on Riviera’s par-3 16th hole. Not a bad way to make your PGA Tour debut, eh? But it gets better because the ace earned him a shiny new 2021 Genesis G80.

Here’s a look at the shot that highlighted his opening 69:

As Kim explained later, his somewhat muted reaction was due to him not being able to see his golf ball go in the hole. But he’s also pretty used to winning cars—specifically Genesis cars.

Incredibly, this is the third Genesis car that Kim has won. In the past four months. That is some kind of car heater.

Kim’s collection also includes a GV80 for winning the Genesis Open on the Korean Tour in October and a GV70 for leading the Korean Tour order of merit last season. Pretty wild. His house has practically been turned into a Genesis showroom.

However, as Kim explained through an interpreter after Thursday’s round, he already gave one car to his dad and the other to his mom. Aww, what a good son.

Perhaps that’s why the golf gods blessed him with a third vehicle so he can keep one for himself. And with three more days at Riviera, there’s a great chance he’ll keep adding to his collection.
