PGA Championship 2025: Keegan Bradley’s son adorably interrupts dad’s first round at Quail Hollow for a hug
The hands-down, number-one best thing about being a kid is that you genuinely don’t know any better. There’s a simple innocence (and sometimes brutal honesty) in being young and carefree, and many adults long for those days as they grow older and more aware of the barriers, guardrails and, of course, gallery ropes that society puts up.
For instance, when most capital-G Grown Ups attend a golf tournament, we reflexively know the boundaries. We speak in murmurs, we put our phones on silent and we NEVER, EVER set foot inside the ropes. Thankfully, Keegan Bradley’s son is still too young to have gotten that memo, and that produced an adorable moment on Thursday at Quail Hollow as he dashed under the ropes to give his dad a mid-round hug.
Pretty dang cute if you ask us. While the rest of us looked at Bradley and saw the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain, his son simply saw his dad and ran out to greet him. Was it a breach of golf fandom’s holiest tenet? Yes. Did anyone mind? Absolutely not.
Making the whole scene even better was the fact that once Bradley's son was back inside the ropes, he gave his mom a score update on Rory McIlory, eagerly explaining that the European Ryder Cupper had just double bogeyed the 16th hole. Needless to say, if Bradley is still looking for an assistant captain for Bethpage, he could do a lot worse than his own flesh and blood.
