Justin Thomas' Ranger game beer chug goes horribly wrong, but he's still having a WEEK in NYC

It has become a rite of passage for professional athletes and other assorted celebrities—when you're face gets on the Jumbotron at a sporting event, you chug the drink in your hand. Not everyone does it, but the ones who do become instant heroes. Or, in Justin Thomas' case, instant goats, and we don't mean the good kind.

Chug and completely finish the drink in a reasonable amount of time for the meatheads of social media, and you will receive endless praise. Completely miss your mouth, hold the drink in your cheeks like a chipmunk and spill it everywhere? Expect those same meatheads to break out their torches and pitchforks.

Let's take a look at the damage from JT's appearance at the New York Ranger game at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night:

Oh boy. We hate to kick a man when he's down, and JT is definitely down after a historically-poor putting performance from over the weekend at the Valspar Championship. Then again, he's chugging a brewski in incredible seats at a Rangers-Flyers game at MSG just one night after attending a New York Knicks game at MSG and going on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. "Down" might not be the best word to describe his current situation. He can take these punches:

Good news is JT is not alone. The almighty Aaron Rodgers couldn't even finish his beer at a Milwaukee Bucks game once:

At least JT tried. Better to spill it all over yourself than not even finish it at all. The kids are doing "shirt beers" these days anyway. Get with the times, people.
