Jordan Spieth will have his father Shawn on the bag this week at the Zozo Championship. The news was first reported by the Golf Channel’s Rex Hoggard.

Spieth’s usual caddie, Michael Greller, has the week off following the death of his mother, Jane, who died last Saturday. Greller left last week’s tournament, the CJ Cup, in the middle of the third round upon hearing the news of his mother’s passing. Spieth used a friend of Patrick Cantlay as a fill-in loop.

Last year Greller launched the John and Jane Greller Scholarship fund, which honors his parents. John Greller, a two-time organ-transplant survivor, passed on Feb. 19, 2019, after a 10-year battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Spieth’s father has served as a temporary caddie before, previously grabbing the bag at the 2019 WGC-Mexico Championship after Greller’s dad passed. Spieth, 27, is searching for his first top-10 finish since the PGA Tour’s restart event at Colonial in June.
