A look at the new Payntr Golf prototype shoes Jason Day will be wearing at the Masters

In a Malbon Augusta-green cap, stylish Jason Day revealed his latest brand partnership, this time with footwear connoisseur PAYNTR Golf, who he will be repping (and testing out) on the greens come April 10.

The collection is titled “X1 Proto” and will be available to fans and consumers in the fall. Until then, expect to see Day wearing the latest models on the course, starting with the Masters, as he continues to finalize the design with the brand, with whom he is now an equity partner, over the next six months.

The creation process has been quite collaborative, with Day contributing personal insights and preferences from his years on tour. Though both parties are looking to innovate the golf shoe offerings with sporty and classic silhouettes inspired by Day’s personal style, PAYNTR placed a heavy emphasis on the inclusion of their latest propulsion technology which will be a star feature, encouraging boost and bounce for a stronger swing and stance, with grip and stability as well as other technical details (waterproofing, ankle support, spikes, etc.).

The company just revealed first looks at the prototyping process and Day’s involvement, as well as first looks—or sneak peeks, teasers—at the design. Expect metallic logo accents, understated graphic typography, retro midsoles, and precision stitching. In terms of color palette, sophisticated, versatile neutrals seems to be the name of the game.
