It wasn't even a major

March 09, 2009

Here's a story you've never seen before (and likely will ever see again): Two people charged with scheming to obtain free tickets to an LPGA tournament.

"The federal government charged two people last week with impersonating the Fort Rucker garrison commander in order to acquire free tickets to a professional golf tournament.

"Both Patricia L. Lemons and Johnny L. Jones were charged with pretending to represent the commander in September 2007 in order to get Ladies Professional Golf Association tickets for their personal use."

The tournament was the Navistar LPGA Classic in Prattville, Ala., in 2007.
