Hero World Challenge 2021 odds: Rory McIlroy a single-digit favorite in star-studded field
David Cannon
Tiger Woods won't be playing in the Hero World Challenge this week, but his presence in the Bahamas will still be the No. 1 topic in golf. That said, there is still a little tournament to be played, and it features one of the most star-studded fields of the year.
Woods invited 20 of the best golfers in the world to compete in Albany, a group that includes Rory McIlroy, who is the solo favorite to win by a slight margin over Collin Morikawa. The last time we saw these two, Morikawa clipped McIlroy on Sunday at the DP World Tour Championship, winning that event and the Race to Dubai title in the process. McIlroy, meanwhile, left Dubai incredibly frustrated, having shot a final-round 74 that caused him to rip up his shirt in disgust.
The next five names on the odds board are a who's who of tour winners, with Justin Thomas checking in a 10-1, Viktor Hovland and Jordan Spieth at 11-1, and Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau at 12-1. One name you'll have to scroll a bit further down to find is Brooks Koepka, who is at 20-1 despite his thorough beatdown of DeChambeau in The Match.
