Seven days. That’s how long it had been since Tony Finau last won on the PGA Tour before cruising to victory Sunday at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Suffice it to say nobody was asking what was wrong with the 31-year-old tour veteran between his third and fourth career tour victories, unlike all the talk that went on during the long drought (1,975 days) that came between his first and second wins (the 2016 Puerto Rico Open and the 2021 Northern Trust).

Finau’s career has been impressive and yet frustrating at the same time, the talent there but the titles missing. He had eight runners-up, three thirds and 42 top-10 finishes between wins No. 1 and 2, but many weren’t sure why he couldn’t close things out.

Well, close things out is what he did in the final round at Detroit Golf Club. Finau made his first bogey of the week on the 11th hole, but also made six birdies to post a five-under 67 and a 26-under 262 overall, beating Patrick Cantlay, Cameron Young and Taylor Pendrith by five shots. In the process, he became the first golfer to win back-to-back PGA Tour events since Cantlay did it in the FedEx Cup playoffs last August.

With the win, Finau claimed a first-place prize money payout of $1.512 million from an overall purse of $8.5 million. That pushed Finau past the $30 million career earnings milestone.

Here’s the prize money payout for every golfer who made the cut this week in Detroit.
