Here's the prize money payout for each golfer at the 2022 Honda LPGA Thailand
A first win on the LPGA Tour will be forever memorable. But the way Nanna Koerstz Madsen claimed hers at the Honda LPGA Thailand on Sunday will help it resonate with more than just the 27-year-old from Denmark, thanks to the 10-foot eagle putt she made on the second playoff hole to beat China’s Xiyu Lin.
It looked like Koerstz Madsen would cruise to the victory after holding a four-shot lead with three holes left on Sunday at Siam Country Club. But bogeys on the 16th and 18th holes combined with birdies on 17 and 18 by Lin forced extra holes.
Lin nearly won on the first playoff hole, an eagle chip stopping on the lip at the par-5 18th hole. Koerstz Madsen regrouped, however, and made the eagle of her own as they returned to the home hole for the victory.
“It's amazing. It's a dream come true,” said Koerstz Madsen, an LPGA Tour member since 2018 and a winner on the Ladies European Tour. “It was a crazy day; a lot of good things. It was actually fun playing the playoff with [Xiyu] at the end. I'm really excited to be standing with the trophy right now.”
With the victory, Koerstz Madsen earned the first place prize money payout of $240,000 from the overall purse of $1.6 million. Here’s the prize money payout of each of the golfers in the field in Thailand.
