Have Dove Mountain to yourself with this $2.3 million Arizona vacation home
The WGC Match Play has moved to Austin this year, but the desert views that made the Golf Club at Dove Mountain look so good on television still make for an ideal backyard backdrop.
Built in the development adjoining the Ritz-Carlton outside Tucson and its 27-hole Jack Nicklaus design, this 4,700-sqft, four-bedroom, 4.5-bath home has commanding views of the Wild Burro nine (reported to be Nicklaus' favorite of the three) and the Tortolita mountains. It has a three-car garage, retractable glass exterior walls, a full outdoor kitchen and a free-standing one-bedroom, one-bathroom casita for guests you want close, but not too close.
The $2.295 million price tag includes use all of the resort's facilities, along with private chef and concierge services. There's also plenty of hotel rooms nearby if you plan to entertain a big group.
Plus, the WGC moving away means two weeks in prime time the courses and club aren't locked down by tour players. High temperatures in January average in the high 60s, and continue comfortably in the 70s through late March.
If you do buy it, you have to go out and try to recreate all the crazy desert recovery shots Victor Dubuisson pulled off at the 2014 WGC. Just to say you did.
