It’s one thing to be irritated with your fellow golfers. It’s another thing to be so annoyed by their antics that you write to your local news outlet to fully vent your frustrations. That’s what one intrepid Floridian (of course) felt he had to do, and we’re all the better for it.

Gene Hilton, a golfer who lives at the 55+ community Stonecrest retirement community, has had enough of the riff raff from the nearby Villages and wrote a letter to the editor to Villages-News.com in order to properly demonstrate his displeasure. The following is pure heat from Gene.

“To the Editor: Yes, it is a sad state of affairs when it comes to the golf courses in The Villages. But please stay away from Stonecrest! Those of us that live here are fed up with your entitled attitude and clogging up our golf course.”

Entitled attitude! Clogging up our golf course! He even gets a little dig in at The Villages’ facilities. In just a few sentences, Gene Hilton has earned himself a Pulitzer nomination.

You might not believe this, but the comments underneath are just as good as the initial message.

“Fair enough Gene, stay out of our Square's, restaurants, shopping centers, etc; stay in your Stone Crest,” writes Joeeey.

“That's fine. Please keep your golf carts out of The Villages,” Leta Springle adds. “The golf cart gate is not for your use, you don't pay for it, it's not public property, and your addition to the snowbird traffic problems are not welcome here.”

“Sounds like Stonecrest is NOT the friendliest community,” comments GatorBait. We do not know if that’s his real name. “I implore all villagers to descend upon Stonecrest and make Gene’s life even more miserable than it already is.”

It’s beautiful to see that a generation that missed social media still has a public outlet to air grievances, bitch and moan. All you gotta do is send a letter to the editor and let the chaos commence.
