Merritt, Williamson Tied At Top

December 04, 2009

WEST PALM BEACH Fla. (AP) -- Troy Merritt and Jay Williamson were at 15 under when play was suspended due to darkness in the fourth round of the PGA Tour qualifying tournament.

Merritt and Williamson were halfway through their rounds Saturday, which started late after thunderstorms forced the suspension of third-round play Friday.

Brendan Pappas and Andrew McLardy were 14 under, and a group that included PGA Tour veteran Jeff Maggert, Billy Horschel and Graham Delaet were another stroke back. Matt Jones was among the only players to finish his fourth round, shooting a 5-under 67 to get to 11 under.

The top 25 finishers and ties after the six-round tournament will earn cards for 2010, with roughly 50 more earning fully exempt status for the Nationwide Tour.
