Garrett Leads By One

December 03, 2009

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Australia's Nikki Garrett was 6 under overall after three holes Friday when third-round play in the 90-hole LPGA Tour qualifying tournament was suspended for the day because of rain.

"You know, that's what just comes with it," Garrett said. "It's really not that hard. I suppose you just have longer this afternoon to think about it. We can go shopping. We've gone shopping about every afternoon -- that's our downtime. But, you just treat it like any other day. We're only three holes through."

Jane Chin was 5 under after three holes. Katie Kempter and Leah Wigger were 4 under. Kempter played three holes, and Wigger completed five.

The top 20 finishers at LPGA International will earn Priority List Category 11. Players finishing 21st through 30th will earn Priority List Category 16, and Nos. 31-40 will receive Priority List Category 20.
