Forget about the stock market, betting on Scottie Scheffler is the best investment around

I still vividly remember my mom scolding me in fifth grade for making a $5 bet with a friend on an NFL Playoff game. The Bills had beaten the Dolphins and suddenly I felt rich. Until I was forced to give the money back.
Years later, my mom preached the importance of making good investments, mainly putting my money in the stock market. And while she no doubt is smart with her money, my original plan to gamble on sports may have been the way to go. At least, when it comes to betting on Scottie Scheffler.
The World No. 1 has been a dominant force these past few years while becoming the bane of golf gamblers around the world. But that's because they—myself included—continue to bet against him. In large part because he's such a big favorite that you don't get much bang for your buck on his odds. Add it all up since Scheffler's first PGA Tour victory in 2022, however, and he's been providing an incredible return on investment.
The folks at Bookies.com have crunched the numbers and they are eye-popping. They're also enough to make your eyes cry when you see how much you could have been making by simply betting on Scheffler every time he plays. I mean, does it get any easier?
According to Bill Speros of Bookies.com, Scheffler has provided a 65.9 percent ROI. So if you bet $100 on him for each tournament, you would have wagered $7,900 and gotten back a total of $13,105 for a profit of $5,205. Not too shabby, huh?
Actually, it's way better than that. As Speros notes, betting on Scheffler during this time period whiles he's racked up 16 wins (plus an Olympic gold medal) has proven to be a much better investment than major market indexes like the S&P 500 (35.44%), NASDAQ (31.83%) and the Dow Jones (22.44%). Pretty incredible.
What about precious metals? Well, they're not as precious as a Scottie outright ticket. Silver nearly has produced the same ROI (68.53%) while gold is lagging behind at 56.43 percent. And Scottie even rivals Bitcoin's 83.85 percent ROI during this time.
So, yeah, betting on Scottie has been a really sound investment. Just food for thought ahead of next week's U.S. Open. I think I might put a nice chunk of cash on him to win at Oakmont. Just don't tell my mom.
