As golf fans are well aware, Scottie Scheffler is on an absolute heater again. Actually, he never really got off one. Research shows betting on the World No. 1 to win every week for the past three-plus years would have been much more profitable than putting your money in the stock market. And "smart" investors around the world are punching air.

Following Scottie's latest win on Sunday at the Memorial Tournament, there were a bunch of stats showing just how dominant he's been from the 16 PGA Tour titles during that span to the fact that he's won three of his past four starts by a combined 17(!) shots. But there was one absurd stat involving a Major League Baseball team that drew the most attention because it was so hard to believe.

That stat was that Scottie had won as many times on the PGA Tour as the Colorado Rockies had won in the previous month. See for yourself:

Crazy stuff. Of course, that stat has just to much to do with Colorado's struggles on the diamond as it does with Scottie sizzling on the course. And apparently, the Rockies got word about this. Because on Wednesday, the historically bad baseball team struck back at the historically good golfer.

That's actually really funny. You gotta tip your cap to the Rockies social media team for that one.

And how about those Rockies? They're still on pace to post the worst record in baseball history with a 12-50 record (No, that's not a misprint), but since that first tweet comparing them to Scheffler, they've miraculously won three straight games.

So, while Scottie's play has been motivating his fellow tour pros to try to keep up, it seems he's also inspired an entire MLB franchise. Impressive stuff.
