Let Melo Cook

Carmelo Anthony literally hit nothing but net on Monday night (sort of)

Not too long ago, Carmelo Anthony could cook on any given night. Nowadays, those nights are few and far between, but when they happen it's a reminder that he was, and maybe even still is, one of the great pure scorers in NBA history.

On Monday night, Melo turned back the clock against the Charlotte Hornets, scoring a season-high 29 points on 10-for-19 shooting from the field. He went 6-for-10 from the three-point line and 3-for-3 from the free throw stripe. In addition, he grabbed three boards and dished two assists, helping the Portland Trail Blazers to a 123-111 victory, which improves their record to 19-14.

What was most impressive about Melo's performance was how he made all 10 of his shots. Each one was a clean swish. Anthony literally hit nothing but net the entire night (except for the nine shots he missed, but that's neither here nor there):

We have to agree with Michael here, as this seems like a truly singular performance from Melo. To not even glaze rim on any of those 10 makes is borderline impossible. I'm sure Steph Curry or Ray Allen or Kevin Durant have done something similar before, as a few Twitter haters quickly pointed out, but for now we'll choose to believe 10 pure swishes is a Melo thing only. He's a legend that deserves a little more respect, which he'll probably get a long time from now when everyone realizes we took him for granted.
