Better Luck Next Time
Calvin Ridley just made one of the highest-paid corners in the NFL regret his entire life, football is back
Remember football? The sport with touchdowns, Aaron Rodgers’ passé references and a fireman in the Hall of Fame. It’s officially back.
The season truly begins when we see vertical videos from training camp of stars embarrassing other stars, and Warren Sharp has provided one for us in which Atlanta Falcon Calvin Ridley torched the Miami Dolphins $82 million cornerback, Byron Jones.
This video truly has everything: sharp cuts, a beautiful sky, that second where you’re wondering if the tweet is supposed to have sound, a ref in shorts and a sad Dolphin knowing that he’s about to go viral. We even get people in the comments complaining about everything under the sun from the pass rush to the preseason nature of the clip, which is a lynchpin of this type of thing.
It may be hard to believe but we’ll have football back in less than a month. Maybe it’s the Olympics or maybe it’s just that time is a flat circle, but that seems very soon. Training camp and preseason games are hitting their stride and pretty soon we’ll be fantasy drafting, regretting every pick we made just days later.
It’s like clockwork, and it doesn’t get any better than this.
Also, while we’re here, it only makes sene to link the greatest moment in any training camp, captured by “Hard Knocks.” See you soon, football.
