These Guys Are Good

Even with only one good hand, Bryson DeChambeau still hits absolute bombs

April 25, 2022

It's been a nightmare 2022 thus far for Bryson DeChambeau, who recently underwent surgery to repair a broken bone in his left hand. An injury that he says was aggravated earlier this year during a ping-pong match. Yep, a ping-pong match. And just like that, future Ryder Cup captains have another difficult decision on their hands over whether to allow that activity in the team room.

Anyway, we've hardley seen the PGA Tour star as a result (a missed cut at the Masters was just his fifth start of the year), and, frankly, we miss him. After all, he got our 101 things treatment just two years ago and is a content factory. So it was great to finally see him swinging a golf club again this week. Even if he's doing it with just one hand.

On Monday, former NFL kicker turned celebrity golf force Josh Scobee tweeted out a video of DeChambeau hitting a one-handed drive. And it's pretty darn impressive. Check it out:

That looked and sounded like an absolute bomb. It certainly impressed Scobee, who, again, is a total stick himself.

And on Sunday, Bryson showed off a similar result (and that same, um, interesting straw hat) on the range—with a spiffy one-handed club twirl to boot:

Hey, it's better than the Hogan cap. And that's a solid club twirl. Anyway, hope that left hand heals up soon, Bryson. Although, if it doesn't, maybe you've found your next trailblazing golf move.
