Ryder Cup 2025: Bryson DeChambeau fires back at Brandel Chamblee while signing autographs for the “circus”
Bryson DeChambeau has been in the news this week. Stop us if you've heard that one before. The U.S. Ryder Cup star has come under fire from Rory McIlroy and Brandel Chamblee specifically, the latter unleashing a scathing monologue on Monday in which he likened DeChambeau to a “circus barker.”
DeChambeau’s teammates quickly came to his defense, hoping to avoid yet another Ryder Cup in-fighting fiasco, but it turns out the Crushers captain had things handled. On Tuesday, he clapped back at Chamblee while signing autographs for the “circus," and let's just say he didn’t seem too bothered by the noise.
If you’re U.S. fan, this is exactly what you want to see from DeChambeau. With looser collars and hotter heads at the Ryder Cup, you need to be able to take a kicking and keep on ticking. So far, it seems DeChambeau is doing just that. He survived two years of being grumpy Brooks Koepka’s dartboard, after all. After that, even the Ryder Cup seems tame.
Of course, finding the right partner for DeChambeau will be critical and is one of the biggest tasks facing captain Keegan Bradley this week. He’ll want someone that can keep Bryson gassed up emotionally but still focused on the task at hand. DeChambeau has a tendency to spiral when he gets inside his own head, but thankfully Ryder Cup golf is a team sport and he’ll have plenty of help … especially if Chamblee keeps serving up the bulletin board material.
