Returning to its traditional three-course rotation—Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and Monterey Peninsula Country Club’s Shore Course—the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will feature nine of the 50 best golfers in the world, nearly twice as many as in 2021.

Defending champ Daniel Berger was looking to trying to become the first tour pro to record back-to-back wins at Pebble Beach since Dustin Johnson more than a decade ago, but on Wednesday, he withdrew from the tournament citing a back injury. Last year, Berger holed a 30-foot eagle on the 72nd hole to win the event by two strokes; it was his second win after the tour returned from the COVID-19 hiatus in the summer of 2020.

Outside of Berger, some of the PGA Tour stars teeing off this week in front of a returning crowd will include Jordan Spieth, Jason Day, Justin Rose and Patrick Cantlay. The reigning FedEx Cup champ is looking to better his T-3 finish in 2021.

Of course, this tournament will feature plenty of big names for the Pro-Am section. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, two-time World Series winner Mookie Betts, country musicians Jake Owen, Darius Rucker, and Charles Kelley, soccer star Mia Hamm will all be playing this week. Bill Murray will be back too. As is tradition.

The winner will receive 500 FedEx Cup points and a $1.566 million share of the $8.7 million purse.
