Ur Mom

Alex Ovechkin embarrassing the Canadiens and then taking a picture with all their moms is why he's the king

As an all-around player, Alex Ovechkin will never be in the same conversation as Wayne Gretzky. But as a goal scorer he absolutely is, and at the rate he's going he will have no problem surpassing Gretzky's goal total (894), thus becoming the greatest pure goal scorer in NHL history.

As it stands, Ovechkin is at 806, recently surpassing Gordie Howe's total of 801 to become the second-best goal scorer ever. On New Year's Eve, the Great Eight scored a hat trick, the 30th of his career, which is the sixth-most ever (Gretzky, shockingly, is in first with 50). It came in a victorious effort over the Montreal Canadiens, who Ovi's Caps walloped 9-2 in D.C.

Afterward, as if the Habs weren't embarrassed enough, Ovi took a photo with a bunch of their moms, all of whom are smiling ear to ear. A king doing king things:

In fairness, the man is a living legend, something these hockey moms are well aware of. Any time you can snag a pic with a living legend, you have capitalize on that opportunity. Can't blame them, though it had to be tough as one of their sons to get boatraced by a touchdown and then open up social media to see your mom cheesing with the enemy.
