GOLF DIGEST CELEBRATES 60 YEARS WITH 60 OF GOLF’S MOST UNIQUE PEOPLE AND PLACES

March 24, 2010

NEW YORK—Starting on April 2, Golf Digest Associate Editor Max Adler will jump behind the wheel of a Mercedes–Benz S400 Hybrid and embark on a two–month cross–country odyssey to visit some of golf’s most unique people and places. In celebration of Golf Digest’s 60th anniversary, Adler will file 60 stories over the course of the trip.

Readers can track Adler’s progress via daily stories, photos and videos to be posted at www.golfdigest.com/go/maxtrip. Also hosted on the website will be a Spot Max sweepstakes for prizes provided by the Road Trip sponsors.

The Golf Digest 2010 Road Trip will focus on the feats of amateurs as well as fascinating locations with ties to the game. Many of the locations to be visited were chosen from the Golf Digest archives with the goal of finding people as crazy about the game as the editors. Some of the planned stops include the Denver professor who made a 517–yard hole–in–one, the golfer from North Carolina who posted 711 rounds in one year and the Palm Springs woman who has won 47 individual club championships.

The Spot Max sweepstakes will include one grand prizewinner, one first prizewinner and two hundred runners up. The grand prize is a Bridgestone Golf Bag; 5 dozen Bridgestone golf balls; one set of Golf Pride Grips; one set of Bridgestone Tires; and 1,000,000 Hilton Honors Points. The first prize is one set of Golf Pride grips and one dozen Bridgestone balls. The runner–up prize is one dozen Bridgestone golf balls.

The sponsors of the Golf Digest 2010 Road Trip are Bridgestone Tires, Bridgestone Golf, Golf Pride, Hilton and Mercedes–Benz.
