Why We Like It
TaylorMade’s Hi-Toe wedges, developed by staff players seeking more spin on open-face shots, came to have an almost secret following. It wasn’t easy to discern whether the wedge was designed for the game’s elite or simply a hacker’s helper. The answer is both. Although tour pros gravitated toward this model, TaylorMade’s team studied the impact location of 130,000 golfers and found nearly two-thirds had impact locations toward the toe. This led to the high-toe shape with grooves that stretch across the face in lofts 54 degrees and higher.
Characteristics
- The raw face rusts over time, combining with raised micro-ribs for additional spin.
- Chrome finish allows those with MG3 wedges to match their set.
- A four-way cambered sole works with a low leading edge to improve turf interaction.
- 10 options (50-60 degrees); 3 grinds; 2 finishes

Reviews
I’m impressed with this wedge's performance. Easy to hit and control from various lies. I’m able to flight full shots and hit low-launching greenside shots on command.
BK, 41, Handicap: 1Noteworthy bunker performance. High-spinning sand shots are effortless. It's an assassin around the greens. Able to dial in my distance control and have pinpoint accuracy on short touch shots.
Matt, 51, Handicap: 11Lightweight wedge with tons of control. Able to vary trajectory on full-swing and short touch shots. I feel confident attacking pins and hitting spinny chips that hop and stop.

TaylorMade Hi-Toe 3
From low-launching, high-spinning checkers to full-on open-faced flops, Hi-Toe 3 has been meticulously crafted to help golfers unlock creativity and save strokes around the green. The Hi-Toe 3 design produces a higher center of gravity that’s engineered for a lower launch and more spin, delivering even better control and spin properties on full swings. Advanced versatility in the Hi-Toe 3 begins with the four-way cambered sole, which remains a staple of the original design. The unique geometry allows for a wide sole and the forgiveness associated with high bounce while maintaining a low leading edge, making it playable from tight lies and visually appealing to better players. The large ZTP RAW Grooves feature radii further engineered for optimal spin in various conditions. New elements that enhance Hi-Toe 3's versatility include expanding full length scoring lines to all lofts above 54° and the addition of raised micro-ribs.
