I really like the soft edges, but overall it feels like a lot of club. It's just too big. Usually, with a club this big you're going to get a lot of forgiveness, but I didn't experience that. Good shots were rewarded, but bad shots were punished. Often times, the punishment was worse than the crime.
Sound was hollow but thick, and loud to a point where people would turn around and ask you, 'What was that?' But in a bad way. It was a very forgiving club in terms of distance. Easy to launch high in the air.
Pretty chunky with some offset and a wider sole. Well-balanced and good with turf interaction. Good strikes had a nice, penetrating ball flight, while mis-hits lost just a little height and distance but stayed on line.
I don't know if there's some kind of shock-absorbing feature in this club, but it feels soft and there's little vibration at impact. It's a pleasing experience to hit. Repeatable high, straight shots and easy to hit, too.
The pitching wedge was easy to hit, but everything else felt a little diggy, like I was taking quite a lot of turf. The turf interaction was not smooth. The offset made it a little more difficult to adjust and counter for the club digging so much.
It's a little clunky and it makes a lot of lot of noise, but it's fairly easy to hit. The face is hot. When you center it up, it goes.
I would say this club puts the game-improvement in game-improvement irons. Very, very easy to hit. Basically, the entire face is a sweet spot.
My first impression is that it's a very big club. The topline and sole are really thick. Performance-wise, I was getting a pretty high ball flight. The ball comes off the face relatively fast, although I did see it bleed out to the right more often than I'd like.
Very powerful through the ball and the turf. Even when the club would dig a little, I didn't lose much distance. The ball launches high and long and drops out of the sky. Firmer in the face but plenty of powerful.
Its strength is more getting the ball up in the air quickly as opposed to making your mis-hits fly farther. There's so much mass at the bottom of the club to help with the launch, but it also delivers a very soft feel at impact.
Swinging this club was challenging because it felt like swinging a baseball bat in 35-degree weather. It's like you're hitting your funny bone. The feeling vibrates all the way up your arms. Also, because of how I play, I need a lot more forgiveness, and I could not find the sweet spot very easily.
The oversized head gives me a lot of confidence over the ball. It's a big wide sole, but that unfortunately seemed to bounce through the turf instead of move it out of the way. I found myself hitting a lot of thin shots as a result.
I found the design on the back very distracting over the ball. Impact felt almost hollow with a very firm, loud noise compared to others.
There's a lot of meat behind the face. Almost hybrid-like in shape. Off-center hits were easy to keep in play. If you're somone who has a hard time controlling the ball, and you could use a little more juice behind it, this could be the club for you.
Good all-around club and performance. I wouldn't say it's the most forgiving club or the longest club, but it's very good in both categories.
Very forgiving iron, easy to hit. I like how soft the face is. You can really feel the ball compressing when you hit a good shot.
It's got a cushy feel to it. When you hit it in the sweet spot, it feels pretty luscious. The distance is really good. You don't get the same feel on off-center hits, but it's not too harsh, and you still get quality distance.
A little above-average in terms of length and distance. A serviceable club—it will do the minimum for what you want from a game-improvement iron. There wasn't one facet that stood out.
My first thought was this is a lot of club. The pitching wedge, in particular, felt extremely large. There's so much bulk to the back of the club. Launch was good, but the spin rate was high, and therefore the distance was too short.
It has a very wide sole, which tends to make it dig. So, if you're a heavy ball hitter, it could be difficult to get to the ball cleanly. Ball flight is a little higher than what I've seen with other irons.
There's a lot of game improvement in this club. It was very easy to get the ball up in the air, and the overall distance and descent angle was very good. What I liked best is how fast and efficiently they moved through the turf.
Very strong, consistent distance and forgiveness in the shorter irons. I struggled a little bit more with the longer irons. The biggest issue for me was the chrome strip on the back of the club. I'd see it on the way down and it kind of distracted me. It almost looked like it sparked on the way down.
The clubhead looks big and feels bulky, but it feels even better when you see every shot go straight and far. The ball stays on line and repeatedly finds your target. There's a cap on its distance ultimately, but what does that matter when every shot finds the fairway or the green?
This club has the potential to do a lot of great things. Every shot was like lightning off the face. Amazing control on three-quarter wedge shots into the green.
