The thick topline inspires confidence. And it's not just an illusion, because it's very satisfying to hit, and forgiving, too. The sound at impact is like the crack of a whip. Very crisp and satisfying.
An excellent club, very forgiving across the face with plenty of distance. Even mis-hits garnered plenty of distance. The feel and sound was a little bit more muted than traditional clubs.
There's a lot of club here. Better-than-average distance when you catch the ball on the sweet spot. Easy to maneuver, which is kind of surprising for its size.
This was the first club in this group where I felt like I could really get after it, and was confident I would find the center of the face. Great performance. Mis-hits stayed on line and maintained enough energy to get to their preferred destination.
Sometimes I don't finish my swing. But with this club, I struck a pose and held it at the end of every swing. It just wanted me to finish my swing, and the impact was immediate and intense. The head just pulverized the turf going through the ball.
It was easy to get the ball up in the air. I never once felt like I was going to top it. The soft clubface made it very easy to tell where on the face you were hitting the ball. Misses tended to fall in a pretty tight dispersion pattern, so we love that.
The hottest ball speed in this category. It was also one of the few I was able to work in both directions. I could totally crush it, even into the wind. It felt like I was hitting a forged iron.
Very cool, unique looking club. The honeycomb pattern on the back is something I haven't seen before. Pretty consistent club directionally. Distance-wise, it isn't as forgiving. If you miss a shot, it's going to cost you maybe 10, 15 yards.
I was surprised by how forgiving it was, and how it seemed to go farther at lower swing speeds. While it was a little bit louder with a more firm feel than others, the results were on par or better.
These clubs felt outstanding when hitting the sweet spot, especially the longer irons. It felt cushioned, but dynamic. The ball jumped off the face on a hot, penetrating trajectory.
Ball flight starts off a little low, but it does rise up to a decent trajectory. The angle of descent is just a tad bit low, so holding greens might be a little challenging with these clubs.
It has a thick topline and a small amount of offset, which seems to be the perfect amount for this type of iron. It does produce a loud pop at impact, and the trajectory is a little higher than most. It stayed in the air a little bit longer, too.
I'm not a fan of the way it looks, but you can't knock the performance. It launches the ball up off the face with ease, and the ball flight is perfection.
I would definitely play this club. The distance is top level, and the feel is just so smooth. It doesn't dig and the strikes are so clean. Very firm across the face.
On center hits, this club feels really soft in the hands, but it does give some harsh feedback on mis-hits. Medium-height, penetrating ball flight. I wouldn't say it's a forgiving club, but it doesn't bleed out too much in either direction.
This really looks more like a players club than a game-improvement iron. I think it actually plays like a players club, too. You definitely get feedback in your hands. You also have to be pretty precise with it. If you don't hit it in the center of the face, then you definitely lose distance and accuracy.
This was an exciting club to hit. Ball trajectory and distance were optimal for me. With the pitching wedge, I was hitting shots that would spin back on the green. And with the 7-iron, the ball would drop out of the sky and seek out the pin. Hard to see how it could have performed any better.
The forgiveness was elite. Even when I thought I had mis-hit a shot, it turned out fine. I was very comfortable swinging this club.
A consistent hitting tool that delivers a satisfying sound and ball flight. On three-quarter wedge shots, the ball tended to fly off the face a little more than I expected, and could be hard to control. But the medium and long irons were more than up to the task.
The last ball I hit was all the way out on the toe, and yet it still carried every bit of 95 percent of my regular distance. It felt like it had a massive, massive sweet spot. It produced some of the straightest iron shots I hit all week. A firmer feel, but consistent across all of the face.
Mis-hits were fading too much to the right. So unless I was able to hit the ball perfectly in the center of the face, it was very tough to control the ball. My good shots went really high, and were very well-rewarded in distance.
So I don't know how they're doing it with the 3D printing, but the feel was really good. It's soft and cushiony, yet you can feel the ball coming off the face. I tended to hit it a little lower than the other clubs, but it looked and felt good. The compact head shape and medium topline definitely caught my eye.
Ultimately, it didn't boast the forgiveness I would like and expect for this club category. Direct hits were rewarded with ample distance and a nice, pleasing ball flight, but the forgiveness on anything off-center was non-existent and ultimately discouraging.
It's very easy to turn this club over. Almost too easy. For somebody who doesn't play a draw, I hit a lot of them. It may not be the longest club, but it's consistent in its trajectory, distance and dispersion.
