The Week In Style: 03.10.15
Dustin Johnson
DJ's really mastered this monochromatic look and I'd love to see this become his Sunday signature. He's obviously an athletic dude and dressing top to bottom in one color makes a very powerful statement. It limits contrast and keeps the attention on the total look.adidas golf
Louis Oosthuizen
The only color that doesn't really work all at once is white. Louis' lack of a suntan doesn't help matters much, either.
Morgan Hoffmann
Floral prints continue to trend on and off the tour, and Hoffmann nailed this whole look from head to toe. The key to owning any pair of bold bottoms is to smooth out your look as much as possible by keeping your polo in the same shade as the ground of the pattern you're working with. Hoffmann's printed pants have a lot of blue and navy and he did well to cue up a solid navy polo then hit the color again with the navy cap toe spikes.ChervoFootJoy
Ian Poulter
Unlike Hoffmann's trousers that have a lot of dark blue in the background, Poulter's pattern is based on a white ground. As such, he's got this look synced up with a crisp white polo. Same principle executed perfectly on both ends of the spectrum. These guys really are good ...IJP DesignFootJoy
Lydia Ko
Ko, No. 1 in the Rolex Ranking, is an unreal talent with a ton of personal style. The kid's 17 but looks like a tour vet on the course. Check out the purple neckerchief she's got going on here and steal her move on your next super-hot and humid summer round. Take a bandanna or hand towel, fold it into a triangle and roll it into a single strand. Dunk the rolled-up towel into ice-cold water, wring it out then tie it around your neck for the back nine to stay cool under pressure.Callaway Apparel
Darren Clarke
If your clothes fit well you'll always be one of the best-dressed men in the room. Whether you like to play around with color and pattern or keep things safe and solid, your goal is to look as comfortable in your clothes as Clarke does here. This has very little to do with fashion and everything to do with style.FootJoy
Jesper Parnevik
Parnevik may very well have discovered the elixir of youth and not told anyone because I'm pretty sure my man hasn't aged a day in the last 15 years, even if he celebrated his 50th birthday Saturday. We're seeing a ton of these five-pocket trousers on tour, and I think they can be a really easy add to any guy's wardrobe this spring. They wear like a jean, look like a dress pant, and I'm honestly surprised it's taken this long to get to the tour. They make perfect sense with a sport coat on those casual Fridays where you're planning to squeeze in nine after work.Cobra/Puma Golf
Ryuji Imada
Watch out, Ryo, you're not the only guy that can pull off super fresh micro print polos on tour. Japan's Imada put this dot print into play during his first round at the Puerto Rico Open and nailed one of the coolest looks of the week.Cutter and Buck
Ryo Ishikawa
That said, Ryo's Pink Flamingo polo still has my vote as the sweetest look we've seen on tour so far in 2015.Callaway Apparel
Alex Cejka
The German came up big with his first career PGA Tour win at the Puerto Rico Open last weekend and looked sharp as heck, too. Neon pink isn't the easiest color to wear for most guys, but follow Cejka's lead if you feel like trying it. Pair it with some crisp white pants and a white hat to keep your look as light and bright as possible. The contrast micro pattern pocket is pure extra credit but a very cool detail from Iliac Golf.iliac Golf
Rickie Fowler
Rickie, the weekly standard atop our style leader board, continues to impress by balancing bold color with interesting patterns for surprisingly wearable looks. I like the paneled Puma hat on its own, but the larger blocks of color also really help to balance the multi-stripe grades in his polo. Head to toe this is a very energetic look on one of the game's most exciting players.Cobra/Puma Golf
Phil Mickelson
Lefty's been all over the fit-and-fashion spectrum throughout the course of his career, but I really think the man's hit his stride now. These are really rich, simple colors, and the proportions of the fit aren't too tight or too loose but feel just right. Phew, those super tight polos weren't comfortable for anyone.Footjoy
Rory McIlroy, Bubba Watson, Henrik Stenson
Talk about a tour trend, three of the game's greats pulled together looks around light blues this week at the WGC and each one of them wore it well. Try teal two ways: pair it with a crisp white trouser like Stenson and Bubba did or take a darker approach and ground your gear with a navy pant a la McIlroy. The only issue -- you guessed it -- we wish Rory tossed that white belt into the pond along with his 3-iron.Nike Golf, Oakley, Hugo Boss
Todd Anderson, Billy Horschel, Marty Hackel
Talk about great color, our very own Mr. Style sat down with Horschel last week at Doral and showed Billy the Kid that he isn't the only one who knows how to rock bold bottoms on and off the course! I love the Vans, too. Who knew Hackel was a skater at heart?RLX-Ralph Lauren
