Overview
Fazio Foothills is another former member of America's 100 Greatest Public, and the favorite among many at the Omni Barton Creek, though the Canyons course ranks slightly higher in our scoring criteria. The Foothills course, which used to host a PGA Tour Champions event and hosted the 2003 U.S. Senior Women's Amateur, underwent an update in 2017 to the layout, which tumbles and undulates down the rolling hills and around and over creeks.

“Foothills is an enjoyable round of golf, with a strong back nine. The 12th and 13th are a standout back-to-back short and long par 4 and two of the best holes in Texas. Recent renovations could have gone much further to improve playability and fairness."

Opportunity to play many clubs off the tee on par 4s and 5s as the shot options and challenges off the tee varied. Par 3s were a bit redundant in length. Nice to have a short 4 that's drivable, yet features challenges on three sides of the green including hazards. Great match-play hole as a result. Fun everyday course."

“The most fun of the resort courses at Barton Creek, the Foothills is a gettable course that plays much shorter than some of the other 7000+ yard behemoths. A fun variety with short holes make scoring here a bit easier than the canyons. A very drivable par 4 is always fun for a foursome to test their fate and pound their drivers while holding their breath with their eyes closed."
