Overview
White Manor Country Club, located in the western suburbs of Philadelphia, is set largely within a valley, that has a creek diagonally bisecting the property. Each nine begins by playing down into the base of the valley, where you then traverse up, across, and down the other side of the ridge, before returning to the clubhouse by climbing back up the slope to complete both nines. The creek and several ponds feature prominently on multiple holes on both nines. As you would expect with the topography, elevation changes factor into several shots throughout the course. White Manor is full of risk/reward scenarios, and often within different points on the hole; from the tee, fairway, and also green. The constant decision making on each hole makes for a very fun round of golf. A good collection of varied par 3s are waiting for the player; calling for length, shot shaping and accuracy to give yourself a good chance at hitting the green.

“Well placed golf holes on an interesting piece of land. The unique bunkering and green complexes stood out. The pin placements could certainly impact scores greatly. Elevation changes on the long valley that the course stretches through add to the sight lines and enhance the contours. The greens were in excellent condition, held your shots and rolled true. Some great contouring and valleys created multiple pin positions and some fun putting!"

“The shot options on this Bobby Weed redesign are solid, with wide fairways, diagonally situated greens that provide strategic value to proper placement and angles and specifically placed shaved green surrounds near greens to add difficulty for a scratch player. Conditioning was not ideal with soft greens and fairways that are a bit too lush. The rolling land has a valley bisecting the course, which creates nice views within the course while adding to layout variety. The three holes with centerline bunkers require interesting strategic designs that are different from the other holes, and the shaved green surrounds make the green complexes much more interesting when the course plays a bit more firmly."

“White Manor is Bobby Weed design highlighting his "shaggy" bunker features and large, subtle breaking greens. The size of the greens create a large number of pin positions that dictate the shot that must be played into each hole. Depending on the day and pin position, the holes may play completely different from one day to the next."

“The course offered a good experience, Changes in elevation, split fairways, subtle contouring on the greens, and a nice variety of challenges, including the creek and ponding that affects several holes, creates several memorable holes. The views from the first tee and 17th tee provide a great view of this secluded course, with the purple-brown fescue adding to the aesthetic. It is a nice challenge that rewards good shots."
