“A super Donald Ross golf course that is typical of his style. Many down, then up holes with plenty of elevated greens. Very scenic and maintained to impeccable standards."

“This Donald Ross designed course is a fun, neighborhood golf club in a beautiful, wooded setting. The Course has two personalities – one side of the road has sweeping, up-and-down holes that flow with the terrain, while the opposite side of the road offers six good holes with character. Holes 1 thru 10 and 17 to 18 lay on ground that has elevation changes, but too often include a raised or lowered tee or green. Holes 11 thru 16, however, do offer interesting routing, shape and contour. At 6,608 yards from the back tees, this par 70 can be challenging, especially when the rough is up. Fairways are generous and the removal of trees years ago provide fairly open space for errant shots. The layout does lack variety, as too many holes follow the same shape and contour. Many of the traditional push-up Ross greens add to the challenge of uphill approach shots, and result in some holes playing longer than the listed yardage. Green surfaces do offer some undulation that requires proper approach shots for a good score. The best part about St. Davids is the bar crowd on a Friday night when you are 5+ deep – enjoy the venue – it’s fun!"
